Super Saturday is March 5th!

Super Saturday 2011 will take place on Saturday, March 5th, at Bellarmine High School beginning at 8:00am (doors open for registration at 7:30 am) until 5:00 pm. There will be two FIFA instructors Dave McKee and Ricardo Salazar instructing the clinic. The format will be to divide the adults from the youth and flip the instructors from morning to afternoon with the two groups. It is hoped with this format that specific instruction may be directed towards each group and their particular interests will be better served.

This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain ALL your training hours in one day by FIFA instructors/Referees! There isn't another clinic like it. Please come (bring a fellow referee and join the 300+ other officials that make Super Saturday SUPER! This is YOUR opportunity and YOUR clinic to network; discover what other officials in associations all over the state are doing.

There will NOT be test/registration for 2011 offered. Instead PCSRA has a special mini-Super Saturday for this purpose that we are offering on Saturday, April 9th at Curtis High School.

Ricardo Salazar has been to Seattle many times. If you go to see the Seattle Sounders or follow them on TV for away games on a regular basis, you undoubtedly have seen him referee a game. I know my first Question will be is "How did it feel to give Beckham a RED CARD!"

Ricardo Salazar is a 38 year old referee from Bakersfield CA. He has been a FIFA Referee since 2005 and a full time referee for the MLS since 2007. He has officiated the Seattle Sounders both in Seattle and on the road.

Our second Speaker will be Dave McKee -Director of National of Assessment and a National Referee Instructor Trainer: He was the 2008 recipient of the Eddie Pearson Award which is presented each year to referees who distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to soccer refereeing in the United States.

He is often the individual that answers the "Ask a Referee" on the US SOCCER web site - http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Ask-A-Referee/2010/03/100311.aspx. With his years of experience, we all will undoubted get a couple of things that can be used in our weekly matches.

Fees are $35.00 with early registration; $40.00 day of the clinic; FREE to youth 18 and under. There is also an all you can eat pizza lunch for $5.00.

Please come and join us-hope to see YOU at 2011 Super Saturday!

Washington State Referee Committee

The Washington State Referee Committee acts as the coordination point for USSF Referee development, Registration, licensing, and training programs within the State of Washington. This area of our site contains the administrative functions that apply to the overall operation of the SRC.

Entry Level Clinics

To become a US Soccer Federation referee, you start by attending an Entry Level Clinic given by a specially trained and registered instructor. You can earn one of two US Soccer Federation badges:

  • Become a Grade 8 Referee (able to work any level Youth match and preparing to work Adult matches), or
  • Become a Grade 9 Referee (able to work Youth Recreational matches U-14 and below).

To choose between them you need to first decide what level of games and assignments you want to do over the next year or so, and how much time you want to commit to training. So while it is likely that young referees would only be interested in working Youth matches, an Adult might be interested in working both Youth and Adult matches.
